ACCS’ Garden is Thriving!
As summer comes to a close, students in our garden club are harvesting the last of the summer crops before the frost sets in. This time of year is crucial for gathering all the bountiful vegetables that have flourished in our garden throughout the warm months. Each member of the club has been picking ripe tomatoes, peppers, and various herbs to enjoy the flavors of their hard work and dedication. This hands-on experience not only teaches them about the growing cycle but also instills a sense of responsibility and connection to nature.
In addition to harvesting, the garden club is also committed to maintaining the health of staff members’ plants in our greenhouse during the upcoming winter months. Understanding the importance of proper care, ensuring that the plants are thriving and ready for the colder season ahead. This responsibility allows club members to learn valuable skills in plant care and gain insights into how to support a variety of species through changing conditions.
The combined efforts in both harvesting summer crops and caring for greenhouse plants highlight the garden club’s role in promoting teamwork and environmental stewardship within our school community. As students celebrate the fruits of their summer labor, they also prepare for winter challenges, emphasizing the importance of sustainability and responsibility in gardening. These experiences not only enrich their knowledge of horticulture but also foster a lasting appreciation for nature and the cycles of growth
