Marine Visits ACCS 4th Graders for Veterans Day

Commandant Douglas J. Rattazzi visited the ACCS 4th grade scholars Thursday. November 8, to speak about his military Marine experience!

Scholars were excited to hear about the training of the German Shepard guard dogs during his 19 months Morocco wanting to know how they could train their own pets!

They also asked about all of the ribbons and medals on his uniform, and were informed about how he received them, “not for taking part of something- but for doing something.”

Commandant Rattazzi is now the head of the Marine Corps League in New Jersey, which involves about 7,000 marines.

Thank you for your service, Commandant Douglas J. Rattazzi!

Happy Veterans Day to all who have served & protected our country!

High Schools Visit ACCS for Info Sessions!

Wednesday, October 10 & Thursday, October 11 high schools, Charter Tech High School for the Performing Arts & Atlantic County Institute of Technology came to visit our 7th & 8th graders to discuss their options once they graduate.

Charter Tech High School for the Performing Arts, an arts-based school, talked about their six different majors- Animation, Musical Theater, Vocal Music, Dance, Film, & Instrumental. Their small environment promotes what they call, "a family of artists." They stressed that this family-like environment allows the staff to get to know the students so they can figure out who you are, what you like, and how to help you achieve your goals. Other unique things they offer are during and after school tutoring every day, recording studios, animation labs, and small class sizes.
Charter Tech's admissions are lottery based and you do not have to audition for their majors. They will be accepting 100 freshman max, and you can apply either through their form or online. For more information and open house dates visit their website here

Atlantic County Institute of Technology is a vocational school that offers programs such as Cosmetology, Culinary Arts, Automotive, Aviation Studies, Fashion Design, Dental Assistant, Medical Assistant, Performing Arts, and more.
