At ACCS, writing is an essential and constant tool that facilitates learning and expression across the curricula. Therefore, writing at ACCS is constant and infused into all subjects. In all lessons and subjects, students are expected to write a response to key questions in order to demonstrate their understanding and mastery of the learning objective. Students’ written responses are guided and assessed using content-specific rubrics.

In addition to daily writing in all subjects, ACCS also follows a more formal writing curriculum through which students write for a variety of purposes and in a variety of genres employing the full writing process.

At Atlantic Community Charter School, writing is an essential and constant tool that facilitates learning and expression across the curriculum.
